The Tracks > Waiuta

Waiuta is one of the West Coast's most famous ghost towns.

Once upon a time, Waiuta was a bustling mining settlement. It produced almost 750,000 ounces of gold from 1.5 million tons of quartz. Today, some of the old structures remain, nestled in stunning bushland.
